The public site
The front end is written by hand, with no bought theme and no imposed component library.
What the visitor sees is rendered by the server, in HTML, with the strict minimum of JavaScript. No blank page while loading, no megabytes to download before reading a sentence.
What that gives
- Pages served quickly, and cached on the date of their content.
- Pictures in several sizes, served as WebP to suit the screen.
- A layout that holds on a phone, because every zone states its width per screen size.
- A dark mode and a light mode, following the visitor's own setting.
- A member area when the site needs one: sign-up, sign-in, profile.
